The Richards Group came to us with a simple idea: freeze Larry Culpepper mid-legend. We went deep on 80s NFL trading cards and hair metal posters and built something that felt like it had always existed.
The Brief
Elevate the legendary Dr Pepper vendor Larry Culpepper into a larger-than-life cultural icon. Four-spot broadcast campaign blending bold typography, kinetic effects, and high-energy motion inspired by 1980s action cinema and arena rock posters.
My Role
Crafted the visual language for the campaign. Worked with director Chris Korn at Zoic. Developed the cinemagraph technique and retro sports card aesthetic that ran across all four spots.
